ART PORTFOLIO PROJECT: PROJECT PLAN

 In this post, I will go through my project plan. This term as I am using the theme of purple and the concept of the violet flowers as a part of the design.

My SMART outcome is as follows:

    For my fashion project this time, I will be using the theme of purple. As you could see in my previous post, I think I will use the motive of the violet flower as the main concept. For the project, I will create a set of 6 purple elegant, delicate, feminine outfits. I will be using both traditional and digital methods, depends on what I will want to achieve. As the final piece, I will create a flipbook or a gallery to show all of my designs. The deadline to finish the project is the 16th of March.

    I have chosen to do this project 

Who are you researching for this project? Please list at least three artists and/or designers and your additional research on your concept 

    For this project, I am going to research Alexander McQueen, Jacques Fath and Hubert de Givenchy. Additionally, I will look at flowers in the designs of other artists and at the meaning of colour purple.

What techniques/skills are you developing/learning for this project?

    For this project, I am developing both traditional and digital methods. I will have to do a lot of experimentations to check which technique is the best to present the airiness and delicate texture of the outfits.

What do you expect the final outcome of the project to be?

    The final outcome will be a collection of six outfits. Each one will have a description and a piece of fabric from which it should be made. Additionally, I’d like to make a logo to attach it to all of my artworks. 

What have you completed so far for this project?

    I have completed initial research on the meaning of purple and Alexander McQueen. I have also come up with some initial ideas for my project.

What do you think will be the issues/drawbacks to the project?

    The main issues will be to present the airiness of the outfits and adding the violet flowers as the details. I also need to think about the descriptions to make them professional.

What is your timescale considering that this has to be completed by Week 10?

    Week Three: Project Sign off and this plan!

    Week Four:  Research on Hubert de Givenchy. Initial sketches.

    Week Five: Research on Jacques Fath. Improving the sketches.

    Week Six:  Specifying the target market, colour palette and fabrics.

    Week Seven:  Aim to finish the designs and making the illustrations.

    Week Eight: Updating the website and thinking about presenting the outfits in the final portfolio. Adding the descriptions.

    Week Nine: Checking the quality and adding everything ready for the deadline.

What resources or materials will you need for this project?

    I will need: paper, pencils, crayons, brushes, paints, ink pen, colourful pens, and/or digital tablet with digital software (SketchBook, Adobe Sketch etc.)

    Delicate light fabric that wraps our body is the desire of every woman and the essence of lightness. The floral accessories connect us with nature giving peace and relief.
