HI!

My name is Olga Sobolewska.

I am starting this blog to be a small portfolio of my artwork.

I am an Art and Design student at De Montfort University International College. My future BA will be Fashion Design because I really want to connect my life with the fashion industry. In the following years, I want to learn as much as I can to achieve my goals.

I love to design, sew, and style clothes and outfits. I also have so many passions that are not directly connected with the fashion industry. I am a volleyball player and in a meantime, I am stretching, playing handball, or skiing. I am also very curious about photography and camera options, I love to experiment.

I have a lot of options for my future in my mind. I am thinking about being a fashion designer with my own brand, or a fashion stylist, or a fashion manager, or a fashion photographer, or a fashion show director. The last option intrigues me the most because not only have I a fashion sense, but also a skill to organise events, manage the time, and lead the people.

Coco Chanel
My biggest inspiration has always been Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. She was a tough woman who still sits in the hearts of many people as if she was still alive. Her classic style was so simple and at the same time so unique that one could not take his eyes off her designs and creations. When creating clothes, Coco was concerned with comfort, class and self-esteem. She started with making hats and ended with creating one of the largest and best brands in the world.

Coco Chanel, byname of Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, (born August 19, 1883, Saumur, France—died January 10, 1971, Paris), the French fashion designer who ruled over Parisian haute couture for almost six decades. Her elegantly casual designs inspired women of fashion to abandon the complicated, uncomfortable clothes—such as petticoats and corsets—that were prevalent in 19th-century dress. Among her now-classic innovations were the Chanel suit, the quilted purse, costume jewellery, and the “little black dress.”

I am also very intrigued by the "Chanel" brand itself. I love the era of Karl Lagerfeld, and after the latest show of the new creative director, Virginie Viard, it is seen that we are going back to the times of Coco Chanel's old work. I am very curious about the next collections. And I must admit that working for this brand would be the fulfilment of my innermost dreams.

Keep your fingers crossed for me and welcome to my blog!

  1. Good introduction and your inspiration however you need to add some research here about Chanel with references as discussed in class. You also need to add the source underneath the image - I also showed how to do this in class.
